There are so many innovative drugs when it comes to fat burning. Among these innovative drugs is Xenical, a specific inhibitor of the Gastrointestinal Hormone, lipase. Lipase function in the GI tract is to digest fats. By inhibiting lipase function, Xenical reduces the absorption of fats in the body thus preventing too much fat deposition in the body.
Xenical mainly focuses on visceral abdominal fat. It also prevents hypercholesterolemia (excess cholesterol concentration in the blood). This is achieved through the drug’s ability to lower the amount of monoglycerides and free fatty acids within the gut lumen which in turn reduces the absorption of cholesterol into the bloodstream (it won’t be able to penetrate the blood vessels).
At the same time, due to the normalization of lipid composition within the blood, the body tissues increase their sensitivity to insulin such that hyperinsulinemia won’t be experienced. This also contributes to the lowering of visceral abdominal fat.
Side effects associated with Xenical are headaches, dizziness, anxiety, GI Tract sides, lack of sleep and anxiety.
